Linksys / Dashboard (2019)

A WiFi Dashboard that shows you what you need to know, and nothing that you don’t

The original Linksys mobile app was made for solo routers, not mesh networks. When the new Velop mesh network launched in 2017, users had a hard time managing their networks and handling mesh-specific problems because the tools we provided didn’t surface the information they needed.

I led the redesign of the Linksys mobile app dashboard. This was a fun but challenging story of balancing user needs with technical constraints and stakeholder expectations. It’s also a story about problem solving, and the dangers of scope creep.
